One of the most common questions I receive is:

"How does your waitlist work?"

If you're considering an Aspen Maine Coons kitten, this is everything you need to know before joining our waitlist.

How Long Is the Wait?

Every family is looking for something a little different. Some want a male, some want a female, and others are hoping for a particular color or pattern.

Because Mother Nature ultimately decides what each litter brings, I encourage families to plan for a wait of approximately six months to one year.

Your kitten could become available much sooner. If you're waiting for a very specific color, pattern, or sex, it could also take longer.

I'd rather be honest about that from the beginning than promise a kitten I can't guarantee.

Why Can the Wait Take So Long?

Even with carefully planned litters, I can't control:

• How many kittens will be born

• How many will be male or female

• Which colors and patterns will appear

• When a particular combination will become available

  
  

This can create an interesting situation where I may have kittens available while simultaneously having families on my waitlist.

For example, several families may be waiting specifically for males while females are currently available.

That's simply Mother Nature running the inventory department!

Your Preferences Can Always Change

Joining the waitlist does not lock you into your original preference.

Maybe you joined hoping for a black smoke male.

Then a beautiful silver female becomes available and steals your heart.

You are absolutely welcome to change your mind.

When kittens become available outside someone's original preferences, I often reach out to my waiting families and let them know. There is never pressure to choose a different kitten.

You can take the opportunity or continue waiting for exactly what you originally wanted.

My goal is to help every waitlist family ultimately bring home an Aspen Maine Coons kitten they love.

How Do I Join the Aspen Maine Coons Waitlist?

To officially join our waitlist, two things are required:

1. A signed Health Guarantee and Purchase Contract

2. A $500 non-refundable deposit

Your $500 deposit reserves your place on the Aspen Maine Coons waitlist.

Most importantly, the $500 is applied toward the purchase price of your kitten. It is not an additional fee.

How Much Is an Aspen Maine Coons Kitten?

For new reservations, the total purchase price of an Aspen Maine Coons kitten is:

$4,000

Payment is structured as:

$500 non-refundable deposit when you join the waitlist

$3,500 remaining balance when your kitten goes home

Your $500 deposit is part of the $4,000 purchase price.

Why Is the Deposit Non-Refundable?

When you join our waitlist, I reserve a place specifically for you and begin considering you as future litters become available.

However, I cannot guarantee that Mother Nature will produce your requested kitten within a certain number of litters.

For example, if you're waiting specifically for a male and three consecutive litters don't produce an available male for you, your deposit does not become refundable.

You may continue waiting.

You may change your preferences.

You may accept another available kitten that you fall in love with.

But the deposit itself remains non-refundable.

I want this to be completely clear before anyone joins the waitlist so every family can decide whether our process is right for them.

What Happens While I'm Waiting?

You aren't forgotten after joining the waitlist.

As kittens are born, I share photos, videos, and updates as they grow. When kittens become available, I work through my waitlist and communicate with families about their options.

Sometimes the kitten someone has been dreaming about arrives exactly as expected.

Other times, a completely unexpected kitten changes the plan.

That's part of the fun.

Should I Join If I Only Want a Very Specific Kitten?

Absolutely, as long as you're willing to wait.

If your heart is set on a particular sex, color, or pattern, I am happy to keep you on the waitlist for that kitten.

Just understand that the more specific your preferences are, the longer your wait may be.

Families who are flexible about color or sex naturally have more opportunities when kittens become available.

Is the Aspen Maine Coons Waitlist Right for You?

I want families to join our waitlist because they're excited about eventually bringing home an Aspen Maine Coons kitten, not because they feel pressured to make a quick decision.

Before placing your deposit, make sure you're comfortable with:

• A potential six-month to one-year wait

• The possibility of a longer wait for very specific preferences

• A $4,000 total kitten price

And sometimes the kitten a family never expected to choose becomes the one they can't imagine living without.
