Every family joins my waitlist looking for something a little different. Some are hoping for a male, others for a female. Many are waiting for a specific color or pattern. And there is one very important part of this process that neither you nor I can control...

Every Litter Is a Surprise

Even after I carefully plan a breeding, there are still many unknowns.

I don't know:

• How many kittens will be born.

• Whether there will be more boys or girls.

• What colors or patterns they'll be.

• Which kittens will best match the families already waiting.

  
  

Every litter writes its own story, and that's one of the things that makes breeding Maine Coons so exciting.

Why Some Families Wait Longer Than Others

Not every family waits the same amount of time. If you're open to either gender and several different colors, your wait may be shorter. If you're hoping for a very specific combination, such as a black smoke male or a blue silver female, it may take longer for the right kitten to arrive. Unfortunately, no breeder can promise what each litter will produce.

How Long Should You Expect to Wait?

While every situation is different, I encourage families to expect a wait of approximately six months to one year. Sometimes the perfect kitten arrives much sooner. Occasionally it takes longer, especially if you're waiting for a very specific color or gender. I'd rather be honest from the beginning than make promises I can't keep.

Flexibility Along the Way

One of the nice things about joining the Aspen Maine Coons waitlist is that your preferences can always change. Many families begin by hoping for one particular color or gender, but as new litters are born, they sometimes fall in love with a kitten they never expected. If a wonderful kitten becomes available that doesn't match your original request, I'll often reach out and let you know. There is never any pressure to change your mind, but I want every family to know about the opportunities available to them. My goal isn't simply to maintain a waitlist. My goal is to help every family bring home an Aspen Maine Coons kitten they'll love for years to come.

Reserving Your Place on the Waitlist

Families reserve their place on the Aspen Maine Coons waitlist with a $500 non-refundable reservation fee and a signed Health Guarantee and Purchase Contract. Your reservation fee secures your place in line while I carefully plan future litters and reserve potential kittens for families in waitlist order. Because your place on the waitlist is held specifically for you, the reservation fee is non-refundable. Mother Nature ultimately determines litter size, color, patterns, and gender, so I cannot guarantee when a specific kitten will be born.

For that reason, I encourage families to join the waitlist only when they understand the process and are comfortable waiting for the right kitten.

What Happens While You Wait?

Waiting doesn't mean you're forgotten. As new litters arrive, I share photos, videos, and updates so my waitlist families can enjoy watching the kittens grow. You'll get to celebrate new litters, follow their development, and share in the excitement long before your own kitten comes home.
